Guide to buy engagement ring

There are very important and significant events in a man’s life, which are customarily celebrated in grand festivities, luxury meals at events halls and mostly, by buying a ring. Maybe the most important and significant event that is usually marked with putting on a ring is the wedding ceremony, but in many countries in the world it is customary that the engagement ceremony, which precedes it, is also marked by putting on a ring (which is different than the wedding ring by shape and by the stones embedded in it).

What is the difference between a wedding ring and an engagement ring?

Besides being a gift between a man and a woman, and a mark of the engagement ceremony, the ring has a significant social role, and is used as a dress code and a social convention to mark the status of the wearer of the ring as engaged (or married). Therefore, the distinct typical appearance of the different rings allows them to be recognized easily as an engagement ring or a wedding ring.

Engagement ring– it is customary that engagement rings are embedded with diamonds or other gems (usually diamonds).

Wedding rings– according to Jewish law, a wedding ring should be worth at least a kopeck, in its shape smooth and simple, made of one piece and one material, without mixing materials and without embedding stones in the ring.

How to choose an engagement ring?

While buying the rings and preparing for the oncoming wedding are from the happiest and exciting events in any men’ss life, and we are always happy to take part in them when we come to choose the right engagement ring, most of us stumble upon lack of knowledge and are unable to

What do we need to know when choosing an engagement ring?

A classic or formatted design- there are two main types of engagement rings:

1.Classic design
The first and most common type is “the classic engagement ring.” This ring has one diamond set in its center, and is also called “solitaire ring.” This is a common engagement ring, and it’s popular because an engagement ring will be used by the woman throughout her life, in a verity of situations and with a verity of clothing articles
and so its classic design makes it easy to match every look.

2.Formatted design
The second type is the engagement ring in a formatted design- this type of ring allows the formatting of the ring in any shape, any trend, any specific characteristic or any design you want. The significant advantage of this design is the uniqueness that can be achieved in the formatting of the ring, and it is fit for a woman who is looking for a ring that will set her apart from other rings in the ring market. We recommend the classic design because trends come and go and designs become irrelevant, while the ring is supposed to be something permanent that is long-lasting fashion wise. There are others events in our lives such as births, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. at which there certainly are opportunities to buy a specially designed ring for the woman to wear next to the classic ring.

Choosing the diamond- like we said earlier, the embedded stone, or diamond, is the “star” of the ring. The type of the stone and its size is of vital importance in the ring. And in many cases, the price of the ring itself is insignificant in comparison to the price of the diamond and so choosing the diamond is very important when buying a ring.

What are the characteristics that determine the price of a diamond?

Those are the main characters that by them the price and the quality of the diamond are set:

1.Size– maybe the most important characteristic of them all. The size of the diamonds is determined by carats (0.20 g), which are divided into points (100 points per carat). It is important to note that because bigger diamonds are substantially rarer, a bigger diamonds will always be more valuable than two smaller stones of the same quality weight.

2.Color– the color of the diamonds ranges by a table of colors from the most transparent ones (that is marked by the letter D) to more yellowish and brownish diamonds (the letter Z), the rule of thumb is- the more the diamond is transparent and colorless, the higher its value.

3.Clarity– this characteristic checks the level of flaws and imperfections in the diamond as can be seen by looking at it. The more the diamond is flawless, the higher its value. The clarity is rated by 9 different levels of cleanliness.

4.Cut– the way the stone is cut, is one of the most important steps that determine its quality and is done by an artist and a professional in polishing diamonds. The cut plays a big part in the transparency of the stone, in its color and the general look of the diamond, because a stone that was cut expertly will have significantly more value. There are five levels of cutting, and it is customary to note them so: poor, fair, good, very good, excellent.
